Managing Multiple Volunteer Groups Simultaneously (virtual)

January 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The first day of a major incident can be oh so complicated, with fingers crossed, and the hope that it all
unfolds in an organized way – according to some really good plan out there. Sometimes it does; but
chaos, with nobody at fault, is the norm. After all, they’re called disasters for a reason.
The day of the week and the time of day have a huge influence on how we respond. Whether the
incident is a surprise, or was seen coming, is also big. In this presentation, we will talk about Incident Command
and/ or Unified Command in the field – somehow triggering a local government response, and how
CERT volunteers, along with a lot of other organized volunteers, fit in. We’ll ask a lot of questions and
with luck, we’ll even answer a few.
